Since these babies will be staying in the NICU for a while, I decided they might need some colorful quilts to brighten their surroundings.
This one's for the baby boy, Tuller -
Front
and back-
Tuller's quilt is made mostly with Moda's Make Life fabric. I added Michael Miller's Groovy Guitars to the back because Tuller's daddy is a musician.
And this quilt is for Ada, the baby girl -
Front
and back
Ada's quilt is made with Tula Pink's Plume fabric, and a tiny piece of Groovy Guitars on the back for fun.
Both quilts measure approximately 28" x 31". My hope is that they will bring a bit of cheer to this new family of four!
Please lift up a prayer for these tiny babies, that they will grow big and strong, and for their parents, that they will have strength and peace and hope during this trying time. If you would like to follow their story, they're blogging about their journey here.
What adorable little quilts. I hope they bring them comfort in the NICU!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous quilts and What strong little babies! The quilts are nicely quilted so they will be super squishy! Well done.
ReplyDeleteThese quilts are just darling and I'm sure they will be treasured. I will be praying for Ada and Tuller to get stronger each day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Those are both beautiful quilts and very thoughtful gifts! My daughter was premature, though not quite as early as these babies, but I remember just how unprepared I was at the hospital. I didn't have a single thing packed and had to actually borrow a phone charger to charge my cell to be able to call everyone and let them know I was having a baby that day. I'm sure these quilts will be very loved by these sweet babies.
ReplyDeleteMary those are so sweet! you are so thoughtful. :))
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute and that is such a welcome gift! You'll probably make them cry :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!! The guitars are so perfect!!!! I hope Justin and Angela love them!
ReplyDeletePS... I made the mistake of reading their blog from work last week and I ended up crying at my desk and a co-worker walked in and didn't seem to know what to do... of course a construction guy doesn't want to deal with a hormonal, crying, pregnant lady ;)
Beautiful quilts! I'll be praying for these sweet babies.

ReplyDeleteHi Mary!
ReplyDeleteI just found you via Flickr- you signed me up as a contact, and I am now your "follower" :-) Thanks for your comments on my quilts! Had to come browse some of yours- beautiful work! I am currently donating a few quilts to a charity in my city called Quilting for Babes, which are for wee ones in the NICU to brighten their days there. I am sure these quilts will do the same for Ada and Tuller! If you want to see my blog about QFB, I am at www.ocd-obsessivecraftingdisorder.blogspot.com Have a great day!
Love those quilts!!!
ReplyDeleteAs a mother to a micro-preemie (24 weeks) I know miracles happen and they will. These two babies will grow up strong and health. Great quilts, they will love them!!
